This is not your typical clear slot car body. Most are flimsy .010 thick lexan. We don't believe in "one hitters". Boss Bodies are made from .024 thick PVC that is tough enough for your Saturday Night short track action. Put those shelf queens away and trade paint without tearing your fenders off.
These bodies ship clear, untrimmed. They do not come with the paint jobs you see here. To have those, email us for an estimate. On June 8, 1948 new Ford model was ceremonially presented at the New York Auto Show. Smooth side panels, independent front suspension as well as drop back side windows were the main features. The body integrated fenders was a novelty that established future standards in car design. In 1949 the company sold about a million units of these cars reaching the biggest sales volume ever since 1929. Company's profits grew fast as well. This resulted in extension of the company's industrial structure, i.e. new production and assembly plants, testing areas, engineering laboratories, and financing. This is why the 1949 model is referred to as the car that saved Ford.
