So, you want to mount up that lead sled, truck, or even the ultimate street warrior - the Checker.  How do you get the Artin chassis to fit it?  It's pretty easy.  If you have a hacksaw, scrap plastic, glue, and some patience, you can custom tailor the Artin wheelbase in minutes.  Click the pics to enlarge.

You can make a chassis jig out of a scrap of wood and some finishing nails.  Make sure to position the nails so the two halves of the chassis will still fit in between.  You can also just place the chassis against a straight edge to glue it if you're careful.

Alright, you've either built your jig or decided to proceed without one.  Use a hobby saw, razor saw, hacksaw, miter box saw, etc. to cut the chassis just ahead of the motor clips.

Take your two chassis halves, clean up the edges with a hobby knife or some sandpiper, line them up, and glue some plastic rails in to connect the pieces.  We used old model kit sprues, but any styrene will work.

The Artin Stocker chassis is currently the only Artin 1/32 car available without a body.  Get one here.  Just order a stocker, and use the "no body" option.  That'll make the car $14.95.
